“Hommage á Paul Klee”

Paul Klee was born 1879 near Bern (Switzerland) and is one of the most important visual artists of 20th century classical modernism. His multifaceted work ranges from Expressionism to Cubism and Surrealism. The arrangement of the exhibition is fictional. Paul Klee is dead. His original works, protected by immense ventilation systems and secured a thousand times over, can be seen at the Zentrum Paul Klee. Jürg Kobel, curator of digital art and founder of the “GIF Gallery,” has invited artists from around the world to transform the symbols, colors, and messages of Paul Klee’s works into the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) for the modern era. At the Kulturmuseum, works by internationally celebrated stars of the scene, such as Sabato Visconti or Anna Malina, are on display. All GIFs can be purchased as NFTs in the GIF Gallery on objkt.com.

25 artists have explored the person and works of Paul Klee. The result, new digital art, could be admired in Kulturmuseum Bern from 22 March to 6 April 2024.

The artworks are for sale on the marketplace objkt.com.
